Winter Break

Our final Wednesday class of the year will be on 11/12/2024, with the final Thursday class being on 19/12/2024.
We will return to our regular schedule on the 8th and 9th January 2025.

Wednesday Night Training

Every wednesday 19:00-21:00
Held in the Main Hall on the ground floor to the left of the main doors.

Our wednesday lessons focus on 15th Century German Longsword, with occasional detours into other weapons of the period.
If you want to read more about these systems you can do so here.

Thursday Night Training

Every Thursday 19:00-21:00
Held in the Mid Hall, upstairs on the top floor.

Every Thursday we run a coached sparring night. This is primarily for more experience members who have the equipment required to spar at intensity.
Occasionally we will run other activities for such members like judging practice or classes in other systems, but these are secondary to the main goal which is to improve people abilities in sparring.

How to find us

All of our lessons take place at the Partick Burgh Hall.

Public Transport:
Partick Burgh Hall is just a couple of minutes from Partick interchange which has a train, underground and bus station. You can use Traveline Scotland or Google Maps for full details and journey planners.

Car:
Partick Burgh Hall is just a few minutes off the Clyde Express Way, and less than 10 minutes from the Clyde Tunnel. While there is no dedicated car park, street parking is free after 6pm and there is usually space on Burgh Hall Street, otherwise you will need to find a space on another nearby street.

Equipment:

Everyone is required to wear appropriate clothing for a sporting activity - this means that whatever you wear must not restrict mobility, shoes must be able to grip on wooden floors and and avoid heavy clothing (jeans, boots etc.). We also recommend a pair of light gloves to make handling swords more comfortable.

On Wednesday nights, we endevour to provide all the necesary kit to htose who need it (mask, protective gloves, and training weapons), though if you have your own we ask that you bring it with you.
